It's one of the most important safety equipment for the pressure water heating system, often installed on the top of the water tank.
When the water temperature inside the water tank are coming higher and higher, sometimes it can be up to more than 80C, that means steam may be produced, then the temperature will come more higher and pressure will be also higher than 0.65Mpa, then the safety valve will work, but the steam are on the top of the water tank, so it will be a little dangerous if this temperature and pressure will take a long time, especially in summer!
In that case, the air-vent valve will work normally, just leaking the hot air from the leaking mouth automatically, till no steam inside, and no hot water will come out at all(hot water will leaking from the leaking mouth of safety valve).
So the air-vent valve often works together with the safety valve.
